Check it! A few days after I first posted about OpenID, Yahoo! announced that they will be offering OpenID authentication for their users. Not to be outdone, Google announces a day later that Blogger is now an OpenID provider.
This is both good and bad.
I think Google played a smart hand by using the Blogger address as the OpenID username, as a large number of OpenID users are blog commenters, but how many Google Account holders use Blogger? Do we really want our blog address to be used on commercial sites?
Hopefully Google will find a solution for Gmail users as well.
